Putin may or may not have played some role in the hacking of the DNC, and certainly it’s proper that the government investigate and track down who is responsible. But neither Putin nor Russian hackers are responsible for the way the party treated Sanders and its supporters.
And this attempt to quickly deflect the subject matter over to Trump and Putin has the side effect (intentional or not) of again dismissively treating Sanders and his supporters’ concerns as largely irrelevant to the establishment.
This whole Russia thing is a distraction.
Was is a bad thing that they hacked? Of course it was! Do we want foreign governments messing with our elections? Hell no!
But let’s face it. They want eyes off the content of those emails, so the media is beating the Russian hacking thing to death, all while forgetting that this does, in fact, mean they probably did hack into Hillary’s private server. But they won’t mention that.
And, of course, this was done to help Trump! And here’s a ten minute segment of how much Trump and Putin get along. Hillary and Putin aren’t friends, you know!
Well… that just tells me the tensions with Russia will get worse with her. Under Trump, maybe it would calm some. Wouldn’t that be a good thing?
Anyway, either way… eyes off the email content. Don’t worry about rigging the primaries or favoritism. Russia hacked them to help Trump. Stick to the talking points!
