US drops largest non-nuclear bomb in Afghanistan after Green Beret killed

The U.S. military dropped its largest non-nuclear bomb on an ISIS tunnel complex in eastern Afghanistan on Thursday, a U.S. defense official confirmed to Fox News.

The GBU-43B, a 21,000-pound conventional bomb, was deployed in Nangarhar Province.

President Trump told media Thursday afternoon that “this was another successful mission” and he gave the military total authorization.

Trump was also asked whether dropping the bomb sends a warning to North Korea.

“North Korea is a problem, the problem will be taken care of,” said Trump.

  1. First 50 something cruise missiles ineffectively attack an airfield and seriously p’s off Russia. That resulted in no change to anyone’s agenda and demands for sanctions were shut down by the G7. Add to that the slapping Tillerson got from Lavrov? I’d rate that as a failure.

Now a MOAB (never used in combat) to collapse a tunnel system?
Of course someone checked to see if there were no civilians, women, or kids in that system before hand? Right!?!
Because if they didn’t, the world press will have a field day about US aggression when dead kids get dug out. I’ve also got a sneaky suspicion that’ll be the case too, staged or not.

I supported the notion that Trump would be better than Killary.
Even for us freethinkers in the UK it looked good.
BUT right now (me readily acknowledging I don’t understand politics at all ) this looks more like happy hour on a range than carefully planned military strategy.

    • I have to agree when I heard they dropped the MOAB on a tunnel system. Was that necessary? Wasn’t there something else we could have done? I think it could possibly be a lot of grandstanding, something I said Trump was good at from the moment he tossed his hat in the ring for president. But I don’t currently believe I personally have enough information to form a decent opinion.
