President Trump Will Not Invoke Executive Privilege To Stop Former FBI Director James Comey From Testifying

“The president’s power to assert executive privilege is well established,” Sarah Huckabee Sanders said during the daily press briefing. “However, in order to facilitate a swift and thorough examination of the facts sought by the Senate Intelligence Committee, President Trump will not assert executive privilege regarding James Comey’s scheduled testimony.”

Good move. Apparently people are surprised by this move, but I’m not. It would have been a very bad move if he had. Honestly, Comey is going to say Trump pushed him to stop investigating Flynn, and maybe more. It is going to be a direct contradiction to what he already said under oath. That will be brought up. If it isn’t, someone is sleeping on the job. At this point, it looks like a temper tantrum by a guy who got fired; at least it looks that way to anyone who isn’t looking at the case with destruction of Trump in their line of sight.
