“Snoop Dogg’s gun, Kathy Griffin’s head, Shakespeare’s bloody rampage, it goes on and on. How many innocent people have to die before we realize that words do matter?” Bolling asked.
“Crazy people act on the crazy things they hear from politicians and celebrities,” he continued. “Think before you utter those blind, hateful words next time, liberals because there are crazy people out there taking your metaphors literally.”
These folks now want to discuss gun control again. The rest of us want to discuss you all growing the hell up and moving on from an election loss.
“After what happened to me in Paris, I know how important it is to be safe and to have armed security,” she explains. “All of my security team is armed, but they also support stricter gun control laws and believe that we should restrict access to firearms for people with mental illness, anyone previously convicted of a misdemeanor, those who have been subject to a temporary restraining order and those at a higher risk of committing gun violence.”
This is the only paragraph that is worth reading. She’s worth saving, because she’s famous for nothing and can afford armed security. And of course it’s OK for her security to be armed! You, on the other hand… you’ll just have to make due. Peasant.
Aside from that… misdemeanors?! Um… I personally have three misdemeanors. All of them were speeding tickets. I don’t know if speeding is a misdemeanor in all 50 states, but it is in NC. So is she advocating for me to lose my right to self defense because I drive a little fast sometimes? How about violent felons, Kim? You didn’t mention them.
And Kim, how do you define mental illness? Are we talking about people like my father in the last year of his life, because I’d get behind that. Or are we going to include people with things like ADHD in mental illness? I have yet to see an explanation as to what mental illnesses should disqualify you from a Constitutional right. I agree, there are some that should. But if you paint it in a broad stroke of “mental illness” with no qualifiers, that’s not alright.
So tell me, Kim. What qualifies you to decide what my rights should and should not be? What qualifies you to decide what is best for me? What qualifies you to decide how I can and cannot defend my life and the lives of those I love?
… Unless something amazingly shocking happens, like a lawsuit or something.
This is getting old, and as of today, it got to over the top levels of ridiculous.
We’re jockeying for biggest victim again.
Here’s the thing, darling. You made a mistake. You did. It was tasteless and wrong, and even your fellow lefties are saying as much. Chelsea Clinton even made a statement about how wrong the images were.
And here’s the thing about freedom of speech. You haven’t been silenced (the image went viral, and you are being discussed more now than you have ever been in your entire life). You haven’t been arrested. And if it is deemed you have no intention of attempting this act in reality, you won’t be. However, with free speech comes consequences. Just because you can say it, doesn’t mean your sponsors and CNN have to host it. They are well within their rights to cut ties with you. They aren’t violating your rights even slightly.
You screwed up. You made it clear in the video that went with the picture that you knew damn well you were making a huge mistake, but chose to run with it anyway.
You are not a victim. Trump didn’t do this to you; you did this to you. And you might have been able to redeem yourself had your press conference speech gone something like this:
“What I did was wrong. It was an error in judgement, something I thought would be funny, but clearly was not. I take full responsibility for my actions and I apologize for any grief it caused to Barron Trump, my sponsors, my fans, and CNN. I understand there are consequences for my actions, and I accept them. My only hope is that you will give me a chance to redeem myself in the future.”
Something like that might have saved your career. But instead, you decided to play the victim in all of this. And the collective eye roll could be physically heard around the nation.
Let’s be honest here. This isn’t a new thing. It was done to Obama and Bush and many others, and I have been in my fair share of verbal sparring matches on why it was wrong to do it to Obama and Bush, too. It isn’t OK. This is a sitting president, whether you like him or not. And it can be deemed a threat. If you don’t like the sitting president, protest, vote, help campaigns to get someone else elected when the time comes, lobby your reps to get things done you want done. But don’t cross the line into threats and violence. At the end of the day, these people are fellow human beings and fellow Americans. They have wives and kids and mothers and fathers and siblings and friends. None of them have done a single thing that was worthy of the death penalty. Have some class. And take responsibility when you screw up.
And Kathy, you screwed up. It wasn’t Trump’s fault and you are not a victim. You made the choice to do this, your rights were not violated, and now you need to put on your big girl panties and take it like the empowered woman you think you are.
She held up a faux severed head of a sitting president with an accompanying video stating she knew it was in poor taste. Her liberal buddies immediately taunt Trump’s 11 year old son over it all. Advertisers drop her and she gets fired from CNN (where she was getting a gazillion dollars to work one day a year). The secret service needs to release a statement.
Because she did something stupid.
But of course she’s the victim! You have to have that victimhood street cred to keep your liberal card. And there’s hers. She was bullied, you guys. She was bullied for holding up a faux severed head of a sitting president!
But of course, please:
Get in the woods with Hillary.
Also, according to this, Griffin has had her contract with CNN terminated.
According this, this… woman?… has put out a photo shoot of herself beheading Trump. Which, of course, is classy AF.
I normally don’t give a hoot when people do stuff like this. If you want to be a complete fool and show it off to the entire planet, please, be my guest. Part of being in the public eye – and that includes the president – is realizing stuff like this happens and learning to take it for what it is. It’s sickening, yes. But it’s part and parcel of being “free.”
But I won’t say something like, “What would have happened if someone did this with Obama?!” Because we already know. Do you remember the rodeo clown that wore an Obama mask? Why don’t you ask him what would happen, I’m sure he’s got a story for you.
This is, however, exactly what so many people are angry about today. Freedom of speech is preached for by lefties like this haggard bottled red head above, but the only free speech they want is their own. If this is going to be OK, then when it’s done to democrats – no matter their gender, race, etc. – then it’s OK then, too. Sorry, that’s how the Constitution works… it covers everyone, not just you and what you want to hear.
But this woman got exactly what she wanted. We’re talking about her. Something that hasn’t happened in a long time. And that’s really all these people want – attention.
